The van just went through service plus MOT with change of fluids filters and cam belt.

Over all it's very nice van and it served us well and besides cosmetic scratch near the rear door (see photo) has one issue which effects the price:
Messed up history.

I bought it in '08 and it was previously stolen and recovered in '07. Insurer had to pay the previous owner full value of the van before it got recovered, so they declared an insurance total loss as a result of theft. When I got it from a dealer of such recovered vehicles, there was no keys and drivers side door had lock taken off. The vehicle wasn't involved in accident but it had lots of parts from inside missing: cooker. oven, sink, fridge, water boiler and beds.

As such it was recorded as cat. D (for those of you not familiar with it: Category D - Repairable. Non-structural damage. May have been economic to repair, but insurer doesn't want to). I have ordered new sets of keys from auto sleepers and replaced all with the original parts and upgraded: new cooker and bigger sink with mixer taps. However the beds/cushions could not be covered with the same fabric as it was discontinued. I have plenty of quality fabric left from cushions to finish upholstery of seats etc, if you decide to do this.

Registration documents had to be reissued too. Re-registration removes the Category D classification, but evidence it was at one time Category D remains on the vehicle's record at DVLA (and HPI and AA and the others).

The stigma "total losses" scares people but most aren't aware that there is over 500,000 of them each year and many of these cars can be safely repaired and put back on the road. So if you one of those people, you will save yourself time by going to dealers show rooms. If however you're looking for decent motor home at a bargain price then I'm sure you will come to buy with your eyes not just read the description.

One more thing if you want to do HPI test to confirm what I've stated above feel free to do so, but some companies offer info ie:. "gearbox - 7 speed manual petrol" right next to "fuel - diesel" or millage to the moon and back :-). There is some obvious mistakes but I'm unable to correct them all, unless you believe that vehicles like that or engines which could make it exist.
